Fluff Pitches
You use pitches to generate the interest as to why they should look. This helps the customer understand the context behind the reason why you are calling, using pitching correct can generate urgency yield much more results
Desperate Customer
Obviously as I am sure you are aware the closer you get towards your contract end date the higher the rates that the supplier will offer you, they class you as more desperate, obviously we’re not saying your desperate but, it’s the way the suppliers look at it. It’s kinda like your car insurance longer you leave it the higher, the premiums does that make sense?
MHHS
Have you looked at Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement for the meter yet? it’s going to have a direct impact on your business energy costs especially the standing charge, has anyone made you aware of this?
At the moment, almost all energy customers are billed using estimated or averaged consumption, but under the new Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement, suppliers will instead use actual usage data that is collected every 30 minutes from smart meters, In essence, it is a huge upgrade to the national grid and that massive cost is going to be added on to standing charges for businesses, what are you currently paying for your standing charge?
Wholesale Pricing Today
What we are seeing currently is the same wholesale prices of electricity as Summer 2021, which was the sweet spot between Covid and the 2022 energy crisis,
A lot of businesses struggled last time there was a war that affected energy prices and a lot of suppliers actually went under as they lost a lot of customers and couldn’t afford to supply anymore. Whilst the prices are the same as they were pre Russian war, suppliers are offering discounted retention rates for their existing customers, to not only help their business customers, but also give themselves long term solid business.
Iranian Conflict
Obviously we know what is going on in the middle east at the moment, and across the globe. With Iran it’s a little different being such a powerhouse in this industry it’s going to have a lasting affect, the last Russia Ukraine war made rates go up as high as £1.20, the last thing we want is for this to continue but, even if it stops we will see the snowball affect of this for the next 6-9 months in pricing, prices are already increasing in July at least 13% domestically, obviously it will be much more for business as it isn’t capped, does that make sense?
Government Taxes %
It might be worth mentioning too, that your energy bill, everyone’s bill. Only 39% of what you ACTUALLY pay is for the energy used, that means that the remaining 61% goes on government taxes and fees, even 3% of each bill goes on debt, do you realistically see the current government increasing taxes or decreasing taxes in the foreseeable future HAHAA?
Transmission Cost Increase
As I am sure you are aware there is a transmission cost that increased in April, now last year in 25, we seen an increase of around 90% and this year we have seen another increase of just over 90%, with more transmission and distributions costs incoming within the next few months we can sort this before, these costings are part of your the standing charge you pay, what is it you pay for the standing charge, the one you pay daily?
Group Tender (Renewal)
At the moment actually we are doing a group tender for supplier name, have you ever been part of one for your energy? Okay, you only get them with large brokers like us, but essentially its where we can bundle a range of different businesses that are with supplier name and get a larger usage, obviously the more energy you use, the cheaper the rate will be and then we can offer that rate to all the businesses. I take it if supplier name will take you on the group tender you’d be happy to remain with them?
Group Tender (Acquisition)
At the moment actually we are doing a group tender, have you ever been part of one for your energy? Okay, you only get them with large brokers like us, but essentially its where we can bundle a range of different businesses together to get one larger usage of energy, gas and electric involved. What we do then is put this out to market and as you can imagine the suppliers all of a sudden find their best prices because the amount of businesses involved normally its around 15-20 business, obviously the more energy you use, the cheaper the rate will be and then we can offer that rate to all the businesses, I can’t always get everyone accepted on the tender due to requirements but, if I can I take it you’d be happy to go ahead?
Renewal Pitch
Perfect, we work closely with that supplier, at the moment they are offering us us great rates so a lot of our customers are going there, anyway what I normally advise in this situation is not to give them all your cards, essentially as I work with a panel, I’ll take your meter and bounce it around all my suppliers and find the cheapest rate, now we have our own account manager within supplier name, what I’ll do is find the cheapest rate, give James, our account manager a call and im sure he will match the lowest rate on the market, on the off chance he wouldn’t would you open to changing, not much point in paying more than needed haha?
Acquisition Pitch
I tell you what, we have had a lot of clients contact us recently about supplier, I’m not too sure what exactly is happening over there but, we can definitely get you away, we work with a range of supplier,
Okay, well I’ll grab your meter number, what I can do then is bounce this around our suppliers and drive the price down for us. is there any others you’d like to avoid or just supplier just to make sure?
Questions
You must ask questions to direct the call, remember the main reason we ask the question is to understand where to take the call next. Each question can lead you into another pitch or bring out a simple objection to handle
